Meet Ivan J. White, Dr. Kelly Vodden, and Dr. Brennan Lowrey — three passionate leaders bringing together storytelling, research, and community development to strengthen rural communities across Canada.
🎥 Ivan J. White is a Mi’kmaw filmmaker, writer, musician, and storyteller from Flat Bay, Newfoundland, who amplifies Indigenous voices and shares stories that celebrate Mi’kmaw pride, culture, and community.
🌿 Dr. Kelly Vodden is a Professor of Environmental Studies and Geography at Memorial University whose research focuses on regional development, community planning, natural resource governance, and building sustainable rural economies.
💡 Dr. Brennan Lowrey is a scholar and community developer whose work explores place-based sustainability, entrepreneurship, and storytelling to help rural communities adapt, innovate, and thrive.
Together, they bring diverse perspectives and expertise that will inspire meaningful conversations at Shore to Shore (S2S) 2026.
